Marabelle June Lippold was born yesterday May 27, 2009 at 3:08 a.m. She weighed 11lb 1 oz and was 22inches long with a 14 inch head. Labor was quick and natural. See my "Photos" section for comparison to Lily, they look like twins.
I will post a birth story shortly. Quickly, I went into labor at 10:30 p.m. By 12, we called our doula and sitter. At 1, they arrived. At 2, we left for the hospital. I had got to the hospital and was checked in at a 5. Three contractions later I was pushing. Two pushes later, she was born. The labor was very "easy" on by body, but very intense. At the end, the nurses were yelling at me to sit down, but I just couldn't. After all, a bowling ball was falling through me. I am thankful everything turned about so well. Baby is nursing and sleeping great! I have had a great experience so far. We came home a day early and are very comfortable.

You can kiss your family and friends good-bye and put miles between you, but at the same time you carry them with you in your heart, your mind, your stomach, because you do not just live in a world but a world lives in you.

Sixxxxxxxxxxx
I've been tagged by Kari to find the sixth picture folder and post the sixth picture:
So Kari, this is what you get. I ordered this bumper sticker and sported it late summer of 2007. I was and am proud of my contradictions in belief. I choose to weave my own path and not conform to one ideal just because society wants me too. That, in my definition, is a true feminist.
1. Go to your sixth picture folder and find the sixth picture. 2. Pray you remember the details! 3. Post it on your blog. 4. Tag four others and leave a comment on their blog to let them know they've been tagged (or, if you're lazy like me, mass e-mail them).

Happy Turkey Day!!! The Bird turned out beautiful. I don't think I could have made it better.
We finally christened our china. It has been in boxes since we got married.
The kids got a kick of out the wine glasses (with root beer).
A full menu. I did the stuffing from scratch, stuffed in the bird. Martha rocks.
Mike diving in. We opted for a traditional carving.
Lily got her wish. (Notice Home Alone in the background)
And pumpkin pie to top it off.
I miss family, but enjoyed preparing my family's feast. Happy Thanksgiving.

Today, I took Peter to The Oaks mall for a little holiday spirit. We always head off to those places, while everyone is rushing around preparing for holidays. He loves the indoor playground, so off we went. While I was there I got so sad thinking about all the times I took Lily and Peter to play at the mall when they were babies. Everyone says it, but they grow so fast. My kid's babyhood have been the best years of my life. I am so sad to see them pass. I even cried on my way out today, knowing those days are fleeting. Looking back, I have made the best of these years and I wouldn't change a thing. I just want them back.
Signed,
Thankful for the Gifts God Has Given Me

What a Wonderful Weekend!!!
Thursday night, I went with a girlfriend and her friends to the Twilight premier!!! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We showed up at 9 p.m. with a table decorated with a rose, an apple, a candle and a sign marked "Team Cullen." We ate cupcakes and cookies and sipped hot coffee, while listening to "Bella's" soundtrack (apparently). I even wore my Shining Vampire club bracelet, keeping my Minnesota girls close at heart. The movie was super awesome cheesiness!!! I especially loved all the teenage girls love screeches. I left the movie smitten for more... It did make me a Edward lover...after having swore myself to Jacob.
Friday, Lily had her fall conferences. As expected, she got glowing reviews! Her teacher told us that she has a 4.7 grade reading level!! I knew she was ahead, but I was surprised to hear it quantitatively.
Friday night we hosted 12 first grade girls and 4 leaders at our house for the Brownie sleepover!!!! It was priceless. We did holiday crafts, had ice cream sundaes, watched Tinkerbell and played board games. I even taught them how to play "OhhBoShaNotAndTaughtin" and we played crawl tag and had headstand contests. The girls were great. We shut out the lights at 10:15 and they were out in 20 minutes!!! We woke up to a pancake breakfast..and lots of jumping on the beds. It was great fun.
Saturday was a sleep catch up day. Lily went to her Nutcracker rehearsals and we had movie night. Mike has the kids watching the Star Wars series. Last night was Episode II: Attack of the Clones. The kids really enjoy them. I am very surprised. Mike also discovered he could do a two cartwheel, roundoff tumbling pass. Very impressive for 30.
Today we woke up and headed off to church. Then Mike took the kids to play tennis. They loved it. Lily told Mike that he should be her tennis coach. I am sure he was glowing inside at that comment. Meanwhile, I got to work planning my very first Thanksgiving. I am very excited. Anyhow, then it was such a bummer, we headed off to the beach and it was FREEZING COLD, a minuscule 65 degrees! So we headed home after an hour to warm cider and hot baths.
A wonderful weekend in sunny CA!

A Story of Capitalism...
Little Red Hen by Lyn Calder
One day Little Red Hen was scratching around in her garden when she found some grains of wheat. "Who will help me plant this wheat?" asked Little Red Hen. "Not I," said Duck. "Not I," said Cat. "Not I," said Dog. "Then I will plant the wheat myself," said Little Red Hen. And she did.
Day by day the wheat grew. When it was tall and yellow, Little Red Hen asked, "Who will help me cut the wheat?" "Not I," said Duck. "Not I," said Cat. "Not I," said Dog. "Then I will cut the wheat myself," said Little Red Hen. And she did.
Once Little Red Hen had cut the wheat she asked, "Who will help me thresh the wheat?" "Not I," said Duck. "Not I," said Cat. "Not I," said Dog. "Then I will thresh the wheat myself," said Little Red Hen. And she did.
The wheat had to be ground into flour. "Who will help me take the wheat to the miller for grinding?" asked Little Red Hen. "Not I," said Duck. "Not I," said Cat. "Not I," said Dog. "Then I will take the wheat to the miller myself," said Little Red Hen. And she did.
When Little Red Hen returned with the flour, she asked, "Who will help me make the dough and bake the bread?" "Not I," said Duck. "Not I," said Cat. "Not I," said Dog. "Then I will make the dough and bake the bread myself," said Little Red Hen. And she did.
Finally, the bread was ready. "Who will help me eat this warm and tasty bread?" asked Little Red Hen. "I will!" said Duck. "I will!" said Cat. "I will!" said Dog. "Oh no!" said Little Red Hen. "I will eat the bread myself." And she did.
This is how we explained capitalism/socialism to Lily last night. It's amazing how much a 1st grader can understand.
